Free US Trademark API for bots and developers

FreeTrademarkAPI is a documentation hub for a free US trademark knockout search API built for bots, AI agents, and developers — plus optional APIs to start US trademark filings and support filings, with review by a US trademark attorney.

This is not a consumer trademark search website. It is an API-first product for automation and agent workflows.

Product

What you will be able to do

A knockout search is a quick conflict screen. It is not a full legal clearance opinion. See knockout vs clearance.

Filing rules this product follows

  • USPTO regulations ban AI bots from accessing the USPTO online filing system. FreeTrademarkAPI does not send bots into USPTO filing tools. A US trademark attorney handles USPTO filing after review.
  • Applicants located outside the United States are required to hire a US-licensed attorney to file US trademarks.
  • All completed filing orders go to a US trademark attorney for review before filing. Bots may place the initial order. Payments use X402 (bot-friendly payments) where applicable.

Agents

Built for agents

FreeTrademarkAPI is designed so an agent can:

  1. Run a free US knockout search (mark + class)
  2. Collect application data and a human contact email
  3. Pay with X402 and place a filing or support order
  4. Hand off to a US trademark attorney for review, declarations, and USPTO filing

Bots never access the USPTO online filing system through this product.
