FreeTrademarkAPI docs · Launching Q1 2027

File a US trademark application via API

A bot can start the order; a US trademark attorney reviews before filing. Payments via X402 where applicable.

USPTO regulations ban AI bots from accessing the USPTO online filing system. FreeTrademarkAPI does not route bots into USPTO TEAS/TEAS Plus. Filing is handled by a US trademark attorney after review.

Applicants outside the US must hire a US-licensed attorney to file US trademarks. This flow assumes attorney involvement consistent with that rule.

A human contact email is required so a person can sign official declarations.

What the API collects

  • All information needed to prepare a US trademark application (specimen, goods/services, owner details — final fields listed at launch).
  • Required: email of a human contact who will sign official declarations.
  • Payment: X402 (X402 payments).

Workflow

  1. Bot places order (API + X402)
  2. Data validated
  3. Human contact identified for declarations
  4. US trademark attorney reviews
  5. Attorney files with USPTO (humans only at USPTO systems)
  6. Status updates via API / email (TBD at launch)
